2.      How Do I Get Started to Date?

• Complete your FREE membership registration and profile.
• Then click on search, follow the ez directions.
• When you find a member that you would like to communicate with, show your interest by sending them a message. You can include additional information about yourself besides what you already stated in your Yachtdates profile.
• If the member is interested in you, you will most likely be contacted by them via the Yachtdates on site message center.
• Remember you should avoid providing personal information such as phone numbers and personal e-mail addresses, or physical land addresses until you are comfortable doing so.

3.      What Are Some Good Safety Tips?

• Protect Your Identity. Don’t reveal any personal information, like addresses, phone numbers, or place of business or residence until you truly feel comfortable doing so.
• Establish an anonymous email address. It is a good idea to create an alternate email address for dating purposes. Be careful not to include any identifying information. Keep your regular email for only family and friends use.
• Report any and all Abusive behavior. Click on “Contact” to contact us to report any harassment or abuse so we can address any all matters or issues promptly, including notifying the proper law enforcement agencies.

• Offensive emails or profile content.
• Inappropriate behavior on dates.

• Meet in public. Although you may have communicated online, spoke on the phone, the member/new date is still a stranger. For initial meetings always meet in populated, public places. Avoid the temptation to bring your first date or meeting to your home.
• When meeting first dates/members, we suggest you drive yourself, take a taxi, or catch a ride with a friend or family member. Avoid getting into a strangers car or boat on first dates or asking for a ride home. It is never a good idea.
• Always tell someone about your first or even second dates with a member. Inform a friend or family member where you are going, how long you’ll be and who you are with. Tell the Yachtdates member your meeting that you have informed your family and friends about your date or boating excursion.
• Always stay sober. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption at all times. Staying sober and keeping a clear head is vital for any situation that might arise while driving, operating a boat, or while on a date anywhere.
• Do not leave your valuables, food or drinks unattended. Watch yourself and avoid theft and the risk of being drugged.
• Call 911 or ask for help from bystanders if you feel in any danger anywhere. Carrying a cell phone at all times is recommended.
• Always ask questions. Find out as much as possible about your date. Search online, the more you know about a member is better. Make sure you share all information with a close friend or family member.
